Beauty Product Reviews

Sometimes finding a new product that works can be overwhelming. I thought I would share what has worked for me in the past and present. Hopefully this could be a time-saving resource for everyone. One thing I have learned with having kids is that we have the tendency to ignore ourselves. We should never! If we want to look better when we get older we need to take care of what we have now.

These are products that I have added to my regular beauty regime. Some that I can’t live without. You will see that the price range varies. I do not discriminate on price. If I find a similar product at a lower price that is just as good or better than a pricier item, you know I am going to choose the cheaper item. These are also products that work for me. Everyone is different. If you have any products that you love please let me know!

Face Cleaners and Moisturizers

These Neutrogena  make up remover wipes retail for around $6.00 for 25 cloths. I normally wash my face at night, but if I have some stubborn make up that will not come off.  I use one of these. They are great especially for mascara. In all honestly I sometimes just use this at night if I am in a hurry and my face is left really clean.  They are great for an after the gym refresher. Especially, if I have a quick errand to run and don’t have time to run home first. They also smell really good!

During the summertime I really need to focus on having SPF on my face. Year round my primer has 15 SPF, but during the summer I need to wear more. Especially since I have some slight melasma around my lips. The SPF version of my everyday moisturizer just cost too much and was smaller in size. My dermatologist suggested the above. I got this one but in SPF 30. It worked really well. Even though the texture of the cream wasn’t as fluffy and smooth as my old moisturizer it did it’s job.  It also retails for around $10. I will continue to use this during the summer months.

I have been using this eye creme for about 2 months. What I like about this creme is that it is so light and fluffy in texture. A little bit goes a long way. I use it in the morning and at night. What I have noticed is that the dark circles under my eyes have gotten lighter. The texture under my eyes has improved. The fine lines have gotten smoother. This retails for $13.99, but you can get it for a little less with a coupon (I found mine in the Sunday paper).

I have used this new moisturizer for a little over a month. I have seen great results. I put it on after I put on the When Hope is Not Enough Serum. I used it to replace a pricier moisturizer that I have used for 6 years. I wasn’t unsatisfied with my previous moisturizer. I just wanted to try a lower priced one.  I have been using in the morning and at night. This is the first time I have used any product that has collagen in it. It smells great and has a nice creamy texture.  In the past month I have gotten many compliments on how nice my skin looks. I have to say my skin is looking great. The tone has even out, it’s brighter and the texture is a lot smoother. When winter comes I don’t know if it will give me the moisture I need, so I might switch by to my old moisturizer and use this exclusively as a night creme. It retails for around $12.00.

I started using this miracle antioxidant serum about 5 years ago. I wasn’t good about using it everyday. At the beginning of this past summer I notice my skin was lackluster and dull. I started using the serum again. I put it on twice a day in the morning and at night. In about a week I could start to see the glow back in my face. I love love love this and will use it until the day I die! Click here to see the magic for yourself.

I used to use this a few years ago and then I stopped until recently. Don’t ask why? Just didn’t buy it again. I use this gentle exfoliation cleaners about twice a week. My skin feels so clean and smooth after I use it. I also have some slight melasma around my lip area. My dermatologist said that using a product like this would help it a bit. Hair Products

I was really surprised how great my hair looked after using this shampoo and conditioner. I have been using shampoo and conditioner you buy at the salon. For the price this is a great alternative! I love the smell. The conditioner is rich and dense. It left my hair so shiny and smooth. Each retails for about $6.99.

Make up

Stila’s Convertible Color can be used on the cheeks, but also on the lips. I use it on primarily on my cheeks. I prefer creme blushes. I feel they give a better all natural look. I have this in a few colors. It goes on smoothly and it’s easy to apply. Click here to buy or find out more about this product.

I love Stila’s Kajal Eyeliner because it goes on so smoothly. It glides on with ease. I have 2 one in tiger’s eye and in onyx. I use tiger’s eye daily. I feel like it really brings out my eyes. Click here to buy or find out more about this product.

I love love this lip gloss (or glaze as they call it). I have been using them since 2007. I remember buying a Stila make up kit and one was included. I  don’t wear lipstick on a daily occasion. Usually only if I am going out-out. On an everyday occasion I  wear these. I love the brush applicator. It makes it easy for it to glide on smoothly and evenly. They are very light and leave on a nice subtle dewy color. They are excellent to put on top of your lipstick as well. You can buy them individually or get them in sets. In the sets they are smaller, but I usually find that is the way to go, unless you will only wear one color all the time.  Click here to buy to find out more about this product.

  2. Thanks honey – great finds! Plus I like how you put the products into context of how, when you use them and how they balance with your usual products.
